It is a portal: an online version of a shopping mall, but with a crucial difference. You'll be fundraising whilst you shop. Like a shopping mall, you can buy from household names and some niche online shops. You can search for something specific by keyword, or browse more generally by category. You can also compare prices, and write and read reviews. But unlike a shopping mall, between 0.5% - 15% of the value of every purchase you make (ie half of our commission) will go to your chosen Fund. It's as simple as that.
Just about anything you can think of: from clothes to cat insurance, holidays to houses, theatre tickets to toys, fishing rods to fridge-freezers. You'll be amazed!
Just about all of the Household Names are on the site, along with some niche Suppliers you might otherwise not have found. If you have a named supplier in mind, check the Supplier A-Zs.
You buy from them, and all of their terms and conditions as to delivery, returns etc will apply. Continuing the shopping mall analogy, we don't sell anything ourselves, we just give the shops space in return for commission - which we then split with your chosen Fund.
Contact us if you think we should consider de-listing the supplier, but you'll need to contact the supplier direct if you want a solution to a problem with something you purchased from them.
Just by doing your online shopping through the Fund it Frog and telling us where you want your half of the commission to go. You can either Register a Fund or Support a Registered Fund - either way, you choose the cause to benefit.
A Fund is quite simply a cause that someone wants to raise money for and it couldn't be simpler to Register a Fund for any cause you like. Then it is simply a question of telling their friends, family and colleagues to make sure they do their online shopping through Fund it Frog and choose that Fund for the commission split. Or if you tell no-one about it, it can stay as your own personal fund with only the commission from your own purchases going in and being paid out to whomsoever you choose.
Of course you can. Just Register a Fund (eg Sarah Brown's Barnardo's Fund) which is very quick and simple to do. You can choose whether to spread the word amongst your friends, family and colleagues and increase the money raised, or tell no-one and just have the commission from your own purchases go into it. It is entirely up to you.
Each supplier sets their own commission rate, which can change from time to time. You can download the list of commission rates.
There is no reason why not, provided you make it clear to anyone you ask to support it exactly what you are asking them to support eg Sarah and John's Wedding List, Kate's Travel Fund etc.
As with sponsorship and other sorts of fundraising, you are in effect giving cash over to the person who has registered the Fund and asked for your support ("the Fundraiser") and the issue is one of trust between you and that person. Although we will of course remove any Funds that we discover to be fraudulent and give the proceeds to a Registered Charity of our own choosing, Fund it Frog does not police the Funds, we simply pay the money via BACS to wherever the Fundraiser asks us to pay it. The Fundraiser will be someone you know, and you must decide whether or not to support their Fund based upon what you know about them and how trustworthy you consider them to be.
